Selkirk Copper Hits 13.12% Copper Equivalent at Minto North in Latest Phase 2 Results

Selkirk Copper Mines (TSXV: SCMI) has released a new round of assay results from the Phase 2 drill program at its Minto copper-gold-silver project, headlined by the highest grade intercept of the campaign to date.

Infill hole 26SCM190 at Minto North returned 6.01% copper, 8.77 g/t gold and 36.6 g/t silver, or 13.12% copper equivalent, over 1.93 metres, contained within a broader 33 metre interval grading 1.49% copper equivalent. The hole targeted the centre of 202 Lens, and is expected to be used to help define the geometry of mining stopes.

Highlight intercepts also released today include:

  • 26SCM205: 3.43% copper, 0.36 g/t gold and 47.0 g/t silver (3.87% copper equivalent) over 3.7 metres from a depth of 173.5 metres
  • 26SCM188: 3.39% copper, 0.61 g/t gold and 16.5 g/t silver (3.73% copper equivalent) over 6.0 metres from a depth of 318.0 metres
  • 26SCM196: 2.03% copper, 1.10 g/t gold and 9.4 g/t silver (2.84% copper equivalent) over 2.1 metres from a depth of 242.6 metres
  • 26SCM179: 0.98% copper, 0.39 g/t gold and 3.4 g/t silver (1.25% copper equivalent) over 12.7 metres from a depth of 315.2 metres

The batch mixes infill drilling with step-outs probing the margins of known zones.

Hole 26SCM205 tested the southern extent of Minto North beyond a previously interpreted fault and hit 2.25% copper equivalent over 13.3 metres, while 26SCM188, a 50 metre step-out from historical drilling at Area 118, returned 1.66% copper equivalent over 23.0 metres. Eight infill holes at Copper Keel confirmed geological continuity at more modest grades, with limited room to expand.

“In a continuation of the positive drill results from the Phase 1 program, the Phase 2 program, led by the exploration and development team, continues to expand known zones of mineralization in the central mine area with very good grade copper-gold-silver intercepts over mineable widths at Minto North and Area 118,” Chief Executive Officer Colin Joudrie said.

Four rigs have now completed 45,299 metres in 187 holes, roughly 90% of the 50,000 metre Phase 2 target, with drilling expected to wrap up in late September. The company has turned over more than 97,000 metres in the past 11 months.

Technical work is running alongside the drills. Selkirk is targeting completion of a preliminary economic assessment in the third quarter, built on a mineral resource estimate effective June 10, 2026, and is gathering geotechnical, geometallurgical and environmental baseline data to support a feasibility study due by mid-2027. A separate scoping study with engineering consultant KPFF meanwhile is assessing options for shipping concentrate to market.
