Wesdome Hits 7.8 g/t Gold Over 57.2 M, Confirming Kiena Footwall Zone

Wesdome Gold Mines (TSX: WDO) has added two near-mine exploration targets at its Kiena gold mine in Quebec, including a new zone less than 100 metres from existing underground infrastructure, as drilling continues to expand mineralization outside the mine’s current resource model.

The company reported hole N134-7207 intersected 7.8 g/t gold over 57.2 metres of core length at the Norbenite Footwall Zone. The result is the third broad intercept in the area, following 6.9 g/t over 42.1 metres and a historic intercept of 9.9 g/t over 83.2 metres.

Together, the three holes trace mineralization across at least 150 vertical metres. Wesdome said the zone remains open laterally, at depth, and up-plunge, with at least 300 vertical metres of largely untested ground between the newest drilling and upper Footwall mineralization.

The September result confirms rather than establishes the Norbenite Footwall discovery. Wesdome first disclosed the zone in June after drilling beyond the Norbenite Fault, an area previously interpreted as barren footwall.

Separately, drilling from level 109 confirmed a new VZ Zone less than 100 metres from an existing drill bay. Six holes have now intersected the lens, including five newly reported holes grading between 2.9 g/t and 6.4 g/t over core lengths of 3.7 to 8.0 metres.

A separate vein intersected by hole N109-7213 returned 23.8 g/t gold over 4.0 metres of core length and sits roughly 50 metres from the drill bay.

The proximity is notable because Kiena is an operating underground mine with an established development network and processing infrastructure. Wesdome’s current reserve-based plan runs through 2033 and contemplates roughly 700,000 ounces of Kiena production over eight years.

Wesdome said drilling through the balance of 2026 will focus on defining the geometry and continuity of the Norbenite Footwall and VZ zones, with results expected to inform its next mineral resource update.

Wesdome Gold Mines last traded at $33.52 on the TSX.
