Omai Gold Hits 5.12 g/t Gold Over 40.5 Metres at Wenot

Omai Gold Mines (TSXV: OMG) has released another round of assay results from its 2026 drill program, adding a series of thick, high-grade intercepts at the Wenot deposit on its wholly owned Omai project in Guyana.

The batch covers nine holes across the western, central and eastern portions of the deposit. Highlights include:

  • 26ODD-193: 5.12 g/t gold over 40.5 metres from a depth of 347.5 metres
  • 26ODD-197W: 2.68 g/t gold over 40.7 metres from a depth of 439.8 metres
  • 26ODD-198: 2.29 g/t gold over 21.5 metres from a depth of 620.5 metres
  • 26ODD-194: 5.24 g/t gold over 7.9 metres from a depth of 213.0 metres
  • 26ODD-191: 5.17 g/t gold over 7.4 metres from a depth of 419.0 metres
  • 26ODD-190: 3.15 g/t gold over 13.9 metres from a depth of 149.6 metres

Hole 26ODD-193 was the standout. Its 40.5 metre run included 11.29 g/t gold over 10.4 metres and 18.35 g/t gold over 4.5 metres, at a vertical depth of roughly 260 to 290 metres in the Dike Corridor.

That work feeds a resource update targeted before year end. Omai has drilled 74 holes totalling 35,149 metres this year with five rigs, against a 50,000-metre goal, and 77 holes have yet to be folded into the April 2026 estimate.

“Our drilling continues to be highly effective,” said President and Chief Executive Officer Elaine Ellingham. “Over the past 16 months, we increased the Omai Mineral Resource Estimate by 86%, allowing us to reach this much larger mine plan and also a much lower than market-anticipated strip ratio.”

An August preliminary economic assessment outlined an 18-year mine averaging 351,000 ounces a year, with a net present value of $6.2 billion at a 5% discount rate and $4,500 per ounce gold.

Omai Gold Mines last traded at $2.70 on the TSX Venture.
