Amex Gold Locks In Contractor for 40,000 Tonne Champagne Zone Bulk Sample

Amex Gold Mining (TSXV: AMX) has retained CMAC-Thyssen Mining Group as the underground mining contractor for the 40,000 tonne bulk sample program at its wholly owned Perron gold project in northwestern Quebec.

Mobilization of CMAC’s underground crews is expected to begin in late July, with initial underground development to follow shortly after. Portal construction is progressing on schedule, and the first portal blast is anticipated in mid-July.

CMAC will be responsible for all underground development and mining tied to the program, working under Amex supervision. That includes ramp development, mine services, ground support installation, production drilling and blasting, loading and hauling, and extraction of the 40,000 tonnes.

The contractor was selected through a competitive tender involving several underground mining firms.

“The appointment of CMAC represents another major milestone as Perron continues to transition from exploration toward development,” said Victor Cantore, president and chief executive officer of Amex Gold Mining. “CMAC distinguished itself through its extensive underground mining experience, technical capabilities and proven ability to execute complex underground projects efficiently.”

The bulk sample will pull material from the Champagne Zone and is intended to confirm assumptions built into the feasibility study, validate mining methods and inform future mine planning.

The appointment follows a stretch of site activity. Amex said last week that the water treatment plant had arrived and installation was underway, with commissioning expected over the coming weeks. Several infrastructure pads have been completed or are nearing completion, and temporary offices and site services are being installed.

Work on permanent electrical infrastructure also continues, with a grid connection anticipated in late 2026 or early 2027.

Amex Gold Mining last traded at $4.14 on the TSX Venture.
